Iain Banks has passed away, aged 59, two months after announcing he had terminal cancer.
Though known for his science fiction novels set in the Culture universe, he also excelled in literary works such as The Wasp Factory (1984), The Crow Road (1992), Complicity (1993) and many others. His final novel, The Quarry, will be released next month.
He will be sadly missed.
