RIP Diana Wynne Jones (1934-2011)

Author of several fantasy novels and non-fiction, Diana Wynne Jones is perhaps best known for her Chrestomanci series, Howl's Moving Castle, Year of the Griffin and Dark Lord of Derkholm. Her reference book on cliches in The Tough Guide to Fantasyland was one my favourites, despite it being difficult to find due to its erratic printing history. After a long battle with cancer she passed away today, despite her intentions to write more. She will be missed.
