Welcome to my humble blog!
I intend this blog to be a place where I can discuss speculative fiction and writing, cover art and industry news and other items of interest. I’m not as well versed in the market as most out there; this is just a bit of fun, really, and a good learning experience. I’m new when it comes to reviewing but am always open to suggestions and criticism. I do a bit of writing on occasion, with a couple of steampunk novels in the works, though they’re a long way off from being publishable. My time is fairly limited these days but I intend to update as regularly as I can.
I’ve been reading science fiction and fantasy since I was seven, from YA novels such as John Marsden’s superb The Tomorrow Series to modern and classic works. Some of my favourite authors are Heinlein, Steven Erikson, Joe Abercrombie, Alastair Reynolds, Asimov, Harry Turtledove and Charles Stross. Thanks to several of the blogs I keep up with I’ve discovered new authors and titles I wouldn’t normally have come across, and it has contributed to the huge pile of books (yet to be read) that I’ve acquired over the years. I don’t see it diminishing anytime soon!
